Thousands of anti-ICE protesters marched through Minneapolis on Sunday to voice their anger at the fatal shooting of a local man a day earlier.

Protests broke out across parts of Northern California on Saturday as tensions continued to rise over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, following a recent shooting involving immigration authorities.

"If we have the federal government actively preventing [the Minnesota BCA] from [investigating Alex Pretti's killing] and ignoring a court order, that's a power grab that's deeply concerning," said Professor Rachel Moran.

Federal officers used an administrative warrant, signed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official, instead of a judicial warrant authorized by a judge.
