Bend native Hunter Hess was scheduled to compete in the men's freeski halfpipe at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina on Thursday, Feb. 19. The event was postponed due to heavy snow in the Levigno area.

Wang Xindi from China won gold in the men's aerial freestyle skiing event freestyle skiing at the 2026 Olympics on Friday.

The men's aerials qualifiers and final were rescheduled for Friday starting from 4:30 p.m. ET, while the men's halfpipe qualification runs were moved to an hour after that.

The squad of Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran and Christopher Lillis combined to post a dominant score of 325.35, which cleared second place by almost 30 points. Most notably, their win gave the U.S. its 11th gold medal of the games, which broke its record for most golds at the Winter Olympics.

The 2026 Winter Olympics was a resounding success for female athletes, who made headlines and history while excelling in their sports.
